Om Malik, [[w:Business 2.0]]

  • Used old skool index cards
  • Everything in life is about the money
  • Nobody who is poor can get their ideas across.  you need money to be a change agent.
  • It’s about the money, do not forget that EVER
  • However, money should not be the motivation, it should be the end product.
  • Startups that succeed are those that change behavior, come up with something better.
  •  * Flickr changed the way we share photos online.  Flickr changed behavior.
  • None of the web2.0 companies change behavior.  They’re great for alpha-geeks, not for the world.
  • How many people use http://nevibes.com?  <10 hands were raised.  Cause it doesn’t change behavior.
  • If a startup takes 15min to understand, it’s gonna fail.
  • Time is the only thing in this world that’s not a commidoty.  Everything has a price that is falling. Time has no price, it’s finite, and it’s not falling.
  • Between 1-2:30 in everytime zone, you see a huge spike in activity on things like youtube, blogs, …  That’s cause ppl have all those carbs after lunch and are tired/bored
  •  * Tele-marking commericals/QVC realized this, that’s why they’re marketing to drunk ppl in the middle of the night.
